Amendment 44

Marijuana Possession

Ballot Title: An amendment to section 18-18-406 (1) of the Colorado revised statutes making legal the possession of
one ounce or less of marihuana for any person twenty-one years of age or older.

Text of Proposal:
Be it Enacted by the People of the State of Colorado:
Section 18-18-406 (1), Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended to read:
18-18-406. Offenses relating to marihuana and marihuana concentrate. (1) Any person UNDER TWENTY-ONE YEARS
OF AGE who possesses not more than one ounce of marihuana commits a class 2 petty offense and, upon conviction
thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars. This law shall take effect on December 7, 2006.
