THC National Convention 2008

Thurs., Aug. 21
6:00 pm

Oriental Theatre
4335 W 44th Ave
Denver, CO 80212
(303) 455-2124
http://thcnationalconvention.com/main.html

A political satire parody event which is slated for mere days before the historic Democratic National Convention. With international press in tow, Thursday August 21, 2008 will be a historic time in the Rocky Mountain State when we put on our own version of a national convention against the FAILED DRUG WAR, with discussions to include so many of the issues of the day (or what they should be). Freedom of speech and expression are encouraged.

The event is destined to draw a HUGE CROWD, as there will also be a variety of complimentary therapy involvement will be available in between music by the BIG BUDS BLUES BAND, among other uniquely politically incorrect entertainment.

Legal medical marijuana patients are automatically upgraded to balcony VIP status (including limited edition laminate, "Green Cross" goodie bag, and official limited edition event t-shirt, as well as complimentary buffet).

Will you consider yourself activist enough to come out and be a part of what the international press will see and experience before the actual convention starts? CHANGE is inevitable Will YOU be a part of this historic freedom loving process in action within a safe environment?

Could this become an open forum for discussions about the some of the REAL important issues of the day in Colorado and beyond? Consider a freedom loving event with acceptable interest levels and safe boundaries? Contact Bobby at 720-628-6291 if you represent an organization or perspective which needs to be heard on the soapbox, and/or for reservations of limited booth and sponsorship availability.

Democrats and Allies Rally Against the Prohibition of Marijuana

Fri., Aug. 22
2:30 pm to 5:00pm
West Steps of State Capitol Building

As progressive voters we share the responsibility of repudiating seventy years of failed policy on marijuana. The prohibition of marijuana takes a toll on our treasury, and on people's lives. We are rallying to demand that our government repeal the repressive criminal laws that pretend to deny us the safest intoxicant and excellent medicine which is marijuana. Securing America's future requires that we end the drug-Gulag, and stop imprisoning citizens for private and harmless conduct. At the conclusion of our rally, we march on the Denver Police Administration Building, to demand that the Denver Police Department stop defying Municipal Ordinance Sec. 38-176, which requires the City to make enforcement of the state statute prohibiting the possession of marijuana its lowest priority, and to insist that Chief Gerald R. Whitman resign immediately for his abrogation of the Law. We contend that under the Home Rule provision of the Constitution of the State of Colorado, it is already legal in Denver under state law for adults to possess up to an ounce of marijuana.
